Newcastle welcomes OKC Zoo for “Trees of Winter” presentation

The Newcastle Public Library welcomes representatives from the Oklahoma City Zoo for the program “Trees of Winter,” at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.

It will be a trip through the world of winter trees, from Christmas trees to holly leaves, and a look at some of the animals that call these trees their winter homes.

Therapy dogs to greet young readers in Newcastle

The Newcastle Public Library’s popular therapy dog reading program resumes in November with four dog friends coming to the library to help young readers.

The schedule and dogs that will be at the library are:

1:30 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 9, 16, 23 and 30 – with Stone;

Newcastle welcomes youngsters for its Wednesday morning story times

Wednesday mornings are all about story time at the Newcastle Public Library, with upcoming preschool story time events set for 11 a.m. each Wednesday the library is open through the end of 2014.

The morning features themed stories, songs, rhymes, activities and more, geared to preschool-age children.
