pumpkinThe Blanchard Public Library’s weekly Preschool Story Time and Rhythmical Lapsit programs take on a spooky holiday theme for the week of Halloween for their editions at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The programs will feature Halloween themes on stories and activities. Preschool Story Time is for ages 3 through 5 and their caregivers, while the Lapsit programs are for ages 2 and under and their caregivers.

Blanchard to present Halloween Movie

movie theaterThe Blanchard Public Library brings an afternoon of Halloween Movie Fun, at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27.

The movie will be appropriate for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Popcorn will be served during the show.

Blanchard presents “Spooktacular” come-and-go craft

paper pumpkinThe Blanchard Public Library is ready for the holiday season with its “Spooktacular” Halloween craft event, set for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

This will be a come-and-go event for elementary school-age children, with an easy Halloween-themed craft children can put together at the library and then take home as a decoration.

Library welcomes beginners to email class

laptop with handsLearn the basics of sending, receiving and managing email with the Blanchard Public Library’s “Email Basics” program, set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

The class is for ages 18 and up and gives a lesson in email including important tips on staying safe with an email account.

Build a bag at Blanchard workshop

sewing machineThe Blanchard Public hosts the second part of a workshop on building a bag or purse at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

Last month, program instructor Jo Ann Anthony showed local women the how-tos and shared ideas on how to create a bag, and in this program, they can put their knowledge to use as participants will actually build their own bag to take home.

Techie teens and tweens invited to library’s robotics workshop

The Blanchard Public Library’s T3 Robot group will expand its efforts with a two-day fall break workshop at 1 p.m. both Thursday and Friday, Oct. 16-17, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

The program is for tweens or teens and will feature building of robots with Lego expansion kits. But with two days to work, the projects will be able to be bigger, better and more complex.

Blanchard continues weekly Story Time, Rhythmical Lapsit programs in October

The Blanchard Public Library welcomes the community and its youngest patrons to its morning activities for children and their caregivers with its weekly programs on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the fall.

Preschool Story Time, for ages 3 to 5 years old, takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays. The programs will feature a mixture of stories, music, flannel board activities, rhymes and more. Story Time dates in October are Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Rhythmical Lapsit for Babies and Toddlers takes place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. The program is geared to babies and toddlers ages 2 and under. It includes books, rhymes, bounces, and rhythmical musical fun. The program is interactive between caregiver and child.
